I am a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in the state of California. In my diverse practice, I help my patients process, explore, and understand their life-long experiences and current beliefs about themselves and their environment. I help my patients find their focus, maintain stability, and consciousness.
Dr. Nava is passionate in his clinical approach to psychotherapy. Licensed since 2002, he divides his time between clinical practice, training, teaching, and as the Clinical Director for Kaiser Permanente, department of Behavioral Health.
In his clinical practice, he delivers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and other evidence-based treatments to adults, couples, adolescents and children with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship problems.
In his consulting and training work, he provides intensive supervision to clinicians as they acquire skills to treat individuals while working on their clinical hours toward licensure.
Dr. Nava has had the privilege of witnessing transformations using an individualized approach and extensive treatment modality skills in clients with depression, anxiety disorders, suicidal ideation, personality disorders, eating disorders, anger management, and addictions.
Additionally, Dr. Nava is very sensitive to diversity issues with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities (LGBTQI). He is eager to apply his experience and compassion with clients as they begin to address issues that will help them to improve their quality of life and attain a sense of fulfillment.
